Li(2) Ji(7) [24408] His original surname was Xu(3) and he was a retainer of Li(2) Mi (582-618) [30886], both colleague and rival of the Tang founders. Ji(7) transferred his allegiance to Tang in 618 and was subsequently granted the imperial surname, Li(2), by Gaozu. He rose to Zaixiang (not in genealogical tables) and was involved in military expeditions against Korea. See also documentation for descendant, Li(2) Shangyin [24412]. Renming Da cidian, pp. 430-31.
